Season Commitment
Playing for Diablo Valley Volleyball Club requires a significant commitment from both players and families. While academics always come first, players are expected to prioritize volleyball when it comes to attendance, effort, and communication as these are all vital to a team's success.
Attendance & Expectations
Players are expected to attend ALL practices, tournaments, and team events. Missing any team commitments affects individual development, team performance, and may also impact playing time. If schedule conflicts arise, players must communicate directly with their coach in advance.
Playing Time
Playing time at the competitive club level is not guaranteed and must be earned. Many factors may affect a player's court time including effort, performance, attitude, and attendance. Coaches will make decisions based on what is best for the team.
Chain of Communication
We value open and respectful communication with our players, but coaches will not discuss playing time with parents without following the protocol outlined below. If a concern arises, please follow our chain of communication.
Diablo Chain of Communication:
- Player requests a meeting
- Player and Coaches Only
- Player requests a second meeting
- Player, Coaches, and Parent(s)
- Player requests a third meeting
- Player, Coaches, Parent(s), and Club Board Member
