For as long as I can remember, volleyball has been a part of my life. Growing up in Hawaii, I played multiple sports, but volleyball was the one that I knew would always be with me throughout my journey in life. I played all throughout high school and was fortunate enough to play one year of club volleyball. My experience playing at Kamehameha Volleyball Club was the best time I ever had. I learned more about volleyball in the four months that I played there than I did in the four years that I played in high school. I am grateful for that opportunity, which pushed me in the direction of becoming a physical educator and collegiate coach.

Having played volleyball at multiple levels (high school, club, junior college, and university) gave me valuable experience as a student-athlete but also as a future collegiate coach. Upon completing my playing career, I transitioned into coaching, where I've spent 34 years sharing my passion for volleyball. Providing players an opportunity to learn, grow, play at a high level, and understand what is expected of them to do their best is what gives me joy and continues to drive me to coach volleyball.
